Jiang An Qi joined Ubisoft Chengdu in 2009 after college graduation and has over 9 years of experience in console game development. He is now appointed as Lead Level Designer of Ubisoft Chengdu and has participated development of multiple Ubisoft classic and well-known AAA games, such as Rayman Legends, Skull and Bones, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, Assassin’s Creed: Origins. As a veteran in the industry, he has also contributed to Chinese translation for the book: Game AI Pro: Collected Wisdom of Game AI Professionals.


The speech will use the latest Assassin’s Creed - Assassin’s Creed Origins as example to share the experiences and challenges Ubisoft Chengdu team encountered during development. It contains how to study and prepare for a brand new story, brand new characters and brand new system, how to plan the gameplay flow and map layout, how to leverage the expertise of Lever Designers, Level Artists and Quality Controllers and manage the team work, how to implement eco-system design concept in the development, and how to overcome challenges in building open world.
